Just Kidding !!!1

When I was a kid,

The honking school bus was my ultimate driving machine, The fear and loathing of Zee horror show made sure that I don’t wake up for a pee, The only time I devoured 3 chapatis was when mom served the left-over mutton curry @dinner, The ideal Sunday was cartoons-comics and cricket, The securest place (where no god-damn-ghost could enter) was sleeping between paa and mom, Subjects like dictation, craft and moral science were somehow a fearful proposition, the only thing that I bothered to wipe my hands and face after a meal was my mom’s saree, Evening prayer was an effort to battle mosquitoes and keep singing in unison at the same time, to avoid interruption of Rangoli-I kept the toilet door open and did the needfulJ, Big Babol(and big fun!) cards were something more precious than anything, The only plea/excuse at exams was a loud cry, Knees and elbows seemed to be the infinitely skin rich parts of the body, The birthdays were all about gifts and “whistle blowing”, The PTA meetings always ensured that my lunch was served only when my father came back from workL, A very late night sleep meant going to bed at 10:20 PM after being bored by the TV commercials during the Friday DD movie, speeches were prepared well before and forgotten after saying the topic, Superheroes came in dreams and lasted for 8 hours, Bravery was rushing 5 metres into the sea and coming back escaping the waters, Sachin winning the match meant a glass of Pepsi@ the next meal, Holi was a colourful vengeance, Being sick meant seating on the best chair-Mom by my side serving apples and soup-brother tuning Cartoon network-papa saying “okay you won’t go to school tomorrow”, train travel meant a ruckus as I often ended holding hands with the wrong parent, clearing contra and Mario stages meant pride among the friend circles, the only escape to adventure meant playing in puddles, Syringes were thought of being the most dastardly instrument ever, 3 consecutive sixes in ludo meant something to brag for the entire day, the only person who was accused of a fart was meJ,Tiffin breaks at school meant rock-paper-scissors, standing on the board of a scooter meant the top of the sky, the toughest word to spell was Mississippi, the reaction after the screening of ‘Jurrasic park’ was ..”dare not come home, my papa will smash you all”, 3 Gollies of Enid Blyton took about 3 years to read, Grandparent meant a store house of stories, The first rack in the refrigerator was the only place to grope when the lights went outJ, the painting scene in titanic meant an automatic head swing to the rightJ, ass meant a beast of burden, rubber indicated an eraser and cats and pussies were recited in aplomb in rhymes...........

Dylan’s-Times they are a changing never was more true L

The road to wordition

The past 3 weeks have been quite a handful. As expected the exams were pure reflections of what the grey cells absorbed and how much could they reciprocate at familiarity in the question paper. The brouhaha over the 'backing waters' seems to be on track of fame and adulation.I seemed to enjoy my part in framing questions for the online el'dorado: where gold is replaced by the witty gritties-at each stage a word will open doors to the next puzzle.Rebus, poetry, codes, queer connections, reading between the lines etc formed the order of the day and I, being a quizzer tried to do justice to the plethora of trivia and repository of information floating around.
November 5 has always been the day of a rebel and I commemorated the Fawkes day by conducting a "V quiz"- all themes shall begin with the letter V.It was really tough to manage 30 odd questions, devoid of any plagiarism, eyeball grabworthy in a span of a week.
After the exams, as if it were the pompous homecoming we had our jigs and jugs in campus-being a teetotaler was never difficult and with each such 'K'arousel I feel an air of desolation, segregation and ostracizm :o .The week ahead promises more adventure, more penning down, my very own errata bureau activities and a spate of quizzes

The lighter vein: I topped my mess with the food bill :)
proud moment, taking a bow and an arrow toooooo :P
